ADTOI’s Convention 2021 Builds Confidence for the Revival of the Domestic Tourism

The first physical 10th Annual Convention cum Exhibition 2021 of ADTOI was held at the ‘The Statue of Unity’, Tent City-2, Kevadia, Gujarat.
The effort was to build confidence to travel for the revival of domestic tourism. The initiative was taken by Gujarat Tourism to organize two days ADTOI 10th Annual Convention. The theme was equally befitting Domestic Tourism-Hope for the Revival “Dekho Apna Desh”.
More than 350 delegates across the country, Hoteliers, Airlines representatives and PR / Media participated in the annual convention. The convention was inaugurated by the Secretary Tourism Ministry of Tourism Govt. of India. The others who graced the occasion were Ms. Mamta Verma, Principal Secretary (Tourism) Govt. of Gujarat, Mr Jena Dewan, Commissioner of Tourism Government of Gujarat, Ms Rupinder Brar Additional Director-General Tourism Govt. of India.
Through a video message by Mr Prahlad Sigh Patel, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Culture and Tourism of India said that Slogan by Prime Minister ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ has given boost to domestic tourism.
Arvind Singh Secretary Tourism Govt. of India while inaugurating the convention said that this is the right time to revive domestic tourism by observing all protocol and precautionary measures. There is no better place to promote domestic tourism than ‘The Statue of Unity’ at Kevadia (Gujarat). This spot has become one of the most sought after tourist destinations in the state. Singh continued that over 50 lakh tourists have visited this place and it is estimated that with more connectivity approximately one lakh visitors will visit the place daily. Hence it is the right time to travel again.
Mr P.P. Khanna the President ADTOI while speaking at the occasion said that the sole purpose of the 10th Annual convention was to revive domestic tourism and to build confidence among the tourists and the stakeholders. He thanked Gujarat Tourism for selecting the most suitable place at The Statue of Unity (SOU).
Coffee Chat with Arvind Singh, Secretary on the air connectivity was even more interesting followed by a question-answer session. On a question from The Voice of Chandigarh, the Secretary Tourism, Ministry of Tourism Govt. of India reiterated that in the next five years India shall witness growth in the air connectivity when the number of aircraft in the domestic sector will be doubled when compared with the Pre-Covid-19 scenario.
Mr Rajesh Arya, Chairman Chapter Coordination Committee quoted that the panel discussion regarding the promotion of domestic tourism by the experts was innovative and thought-provoking. The state presentations by the State of Gujrat, Tamil Nadu and Jammu & Kashmir kept the audience captivating.
Chetan Gupta, General Secretary and Convention Chairman of 10th Annual Convention ADTOI made meticulous arrangements for organising this convention at Kevadia. He assured a comfortable stay for the delegates attending to this convention. While discussing the detailed schedule of the convention Mr Chetan Gupta reiterated that and appealed to all stakeholders to work in unison to promote domestic tourism in their respective states.
Ekta Marathon organized by ADTOI under the leadership of Mr Anil K Rajput was a huge draw when the delegates responded and overwhelmingly participated with full gusto in their uniform.
The post COVID first-ever physical 10thannual convention was full of fun frolic activities, knowledge sharing and with pure intention to promote domestic tourism.
