Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) India offices in New Delhi and Mumbai have been continuous in their efforts of engaging with the Indian travel trade as well as keen travelers to ensure that Amazing Thailand is the top of the mind destination for International travel when it resumes. During these tough times of the Covid-19 pandemic, that has halted travel and tourism worldwide, TAT believes that regular updates and engagement with the travel agents, tour operators and travel media is the need of the hour. This not only gives them a sense of confidence about travelling to Thailand soon, but also conveys that Thailand is with them, for support during these difficult times with respect to travel and tourism businesses.

India is one of the top source markets for Thailand and agents and operators have always played a key role in promoting the destination and its various products to not only in metro cities, but in all Tier II, III cities. Keeping their contributions in mind, TAT New Delhi announced a #TogetherThailand themed contest in association with Mumbai office for the travel agents with interactive quizzes and surveys with focus on beaches, cuisines and new destinations that received 500+qualified travel agents and operators’ participation from across the country with weekly winners announced for each theme.

The month-long campaign that commenced on August 5 included 4 weekly contests had following themes: a)Amazing Beaches of Thailand; b) Food Experiences in Thailand; c) Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration Certification (SHA); and d) Hidden Gem Destinations of Thailand.

Throwing light on the success of the campaign,Vachirachai Sirisumpan, Director, TAT New Delhi – North and East India, said, “On behalf of TAT India offices, I would like to take this opportunity to extend my appreciation to all the tour operators who participated and shared their response for the #TogetherThailand campaign, which was recently successfully completed. I would like to congratulate all the winners for cherishing their memories about Thailand!”

Expressing her appreciation, Cholada Siddhivarn, Director, TAT Mumbai – South and West India commented, “I hope that the activities of the campaign brought back good memories of their best time in Thailand. TAT India offices will continue, and look forward to, working with its trade partners. We will stand with all of them together during this challenging time. Until we meet again, we have hope.”


At a time when Covid-19 is making everything challenging and difficult this contest came as a fresh breath of air for the winners. Each winner shared their excitement on winning the contest and showed their optimism about revival of tourism, international travel, outbound tourism and how eager they are to again send their clients to Thailand once again.

Debabrata Tripathy, Director – Tours, Go Holidays: “It was a great experience to become a part of this contest, share our memories and even check out memories shared by other tour operators. In my opinion, Thailand is a perfect destination for MICE, families, as well as corporate and leisure groups.”
