Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal, announced assistance of Rs five lakh for the family members of those who had lost their lives after a section of the roof of Gurdwara Pehli Patshahi, GT Road, Panipat. He also announced assistance of Rs two lakh to the grievously injured and Rs one lakh to those who sustained minor injuries.

The Chief Minister, who visited the Gurdwara today to review the relief measures being taken, directed the officers carry out the relief work at a rapid pace.

He also offered heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. “The Haryana Government stands with the bereaved families in this moment of grief,” he added.

The Chief Minister announced assistance of Rs five lakh for kin of those who had lost their lives in the incident, Rs two lakh to the grievously injured and Rs one lakh to those who sustained minor injuries.

On the Chief Minister’s directions, a high-level committee headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Panipat, Rajiv Mehta, has been constituted to inquire into the incident. While Executive Engineer, Public Works (Buildings and Roads) Department would serve as Member Secretary of the committee, Executive Engineer, City Division, Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN), Executive Engineer, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB) and Deputy Superintendent of Police, HQ, Panipat, would serve as Members. The committee would submit its report within 15 days.

Those present on the occasion included MLAs,  Mahipal Dhanda and Rohita Rewri, Inspector General, Karnal Range, Subhash Malik, Deputy Commissioner, Panipat, Dr. Chander Shekhar Khare, other senior officers of Police and District Administration and volunteers.
