Basant Panchmi Celebrated in Tricity

7Basant Panchmi was today celebrated with full vivacity and festivity at Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, near Chandigarh at Campus. The members of the institute decorated the campus with yellow rangoli. Staff and Students wore yellow cloth and Yellow rice a dish specific to the occasion was also distributed among all present. The students showcased the vibrant tradition of Punjab depicting the spirit of inner freedom, creative pride and zest for life. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the function.

Ashmah International School, Sector 70 Mohali was bedecked and ready to bedazzle in yellow as the much awaited Basant Ritu festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm and gaiety in the school. Basant Panchmi is an occasion which marks the advent of the spring season and it is also celebrated to worship Saraswati the Goddess of Knowledge and wisdom. Yellow colour representative of Spiritual Knowledge is given importance on Basant Panchmi. The Children came dressed in Yellow clothes, brought yellow food in their lunch boxes and offered Yellow coloured flowers to the Goddess.

The senior students also participated in Kite flying activity with full enthusiasm. It was a glorious sight to see the many coloured kites flying in the sky as teachers and students cheered the young kite flyers. Meanwhile the junior class students were busily involved in drawing and coloring competition on the Basant theme. The celebration armed at spreading the message of respecting nature and presenting our cultural heritage.
