Chairman and CEO of Genting Berhad, the parent company and developer of Resorts World Las Vegas, K.T. Lim, accepted the Keep Memory Alive Global Community Leadership Award at the Keep Memory Alive’s 25th annual, hosted at Resorts World Las Vegas on Oct. 16, 2021. The prestigious award honours those dedicated to supporting their community, paying tribute to Lim’s long history of impactful work in the brain and health space.

The Power of Love® gala, which took place at Genting Berhad’s newest North American flagship property, Resorts World Las Vegas, is an annual celebration raising funds for Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in providing top-level services, care and resources to patients and their caregivers in the fight against neurocognitive disorders. The event paid special tribute to Lim for over a decade of dedication to finding new solutions to improve the health of mankind, with a special focus on finding solutions to treat or prevent Alzheimer’s Disease.

“I am very honoured and humbled to receive the Global Community Leadership Award, and to be a part of your good community, in fighting this terrible disease, that erodes memory,” said Lim. “I wish to thank Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health and Keep Memory Alive, for appreciating the global community efforts that I have implemented, through the Genting Group and the Resorts World properties – that have helped many poor, sick and underprivileged people across the world.”

Beyond the seminal accomplishments of building the first Las Vegas Strip resort in more than a decade this past June, Lim is dedicated to finding a cure for neurodegenerative diseases. Under Lim’s leadership, Genting Group is developing a service and technology platform for the early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and is in the process of seeking regulatory approvals for its diagnostic tools. Lim has partnered with TauRx Pharmaceuticals Limited, which is on the verge of introducing a new drug to treat Alzheimer’s disease to the market. Currently, phase three clinical trials for the drug are being conducted, showing promising results that could lead to the good news by 2023. Outside of his philanthropic efforts to stop neurodegenerative diseases, Lim is also passionate about uplifting his newest community, the city of Las Vegas, and inspiring Resorts World Las Vegas team members to positively impact the town they know and love.

“The Resorts World Las Vegas team is honoured to have a leader like K.T. Lim who is fiercely dedicated to causes far beyond the hospitality sphere,” said Scott Sibella, president of Resorts World Las Vegas. “We are extremely proud of his contributions to the fight against neurodegenerative diseases and privileged to witness the dedication of this monumental award to such a deserving leader.”

Met with a standing ovation during his acceptance speech, Lim dedicated the award to his loving wife and supportive sons, as well as the entire Genting Berhad and Resorts World workforces, for their proactive community service and responsible contributions, not only in Las Vegas but globally. He looks forward to continuing his work in the life sciences field and contributing to foundations such as the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.
