Chinese & German Youth Delegation Visited Panjab University

A 14 member youth delegation of Chinese Peoples Association of Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), China and Sportjugend NRW, Germany, visited Panjab University, Chandigarh. The visit was organized by Friends of China Association & Yuvsatta, Chandigarh.
The young guests were first received by Pramod Sharma, Coordinator of Yuvsatta and Prof. Mohd. Khalid of Political Science at Gandhi Bhawan, where Prof. Khalid shared the rich 135 years legacy of Panjab University, established on October 14, 1882 in Lahore (now Pakistan), later it was relocated to Punjab in India after partition in 1947. Visitors also learned about role of Mahatma Gandhi in India’s freedom struggle.
Later they were received with rosebuds by Prof. Deepak Kapur of University Business School (UBS) who also presented them autobiographies of Mahatma Gandhi and shared about his Department, which has been imparting quality management education to develop dedicated, innovative and effective managers, researchers and teachers for over four decades.
Next stop for this international delegation was Department of Law, where they were received by Prof. Meenu Puri the Chairperson and other senior faculty members, who explained about their Department which is the pride alma mater of three Chief Justices of India, a large number of Chief Justices of the High Courts, members of subordinate judiciary, civil servants, law officers and members of the legal profession and a large number of legal luminaries and justice. The visiting students were also taken to the Moot Court Hall of Law Department.
