Green Saviours, Eco Club of St Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, sector 44D Chandigarh bagged the BEST ECO CLUB award for the third consecutive time by the Department of Environment, Chandigarh in the Sr. Sec. School category among 115 Govt. schools and 75 private schools in Chandigarh.

The award function was organized by the Department of Environment, Chandigarh in the Botanical gardens. The award was presented to Principal  Monica Chawla who received the award from the  V. P Singh Badnore for being Second Best Eco Club in Chandigarh. She also received a momento accompanied by a cash prize of Rupees 15000. The eco club incharge Jyothi N Belavadi was also honoured with a momento.

The school was awarded for their outstanding achievements in following innovative Eco-friendly practices like Eco corners in every classroom, Nukad Natak to sensitize the community, Plant to Heal Campaign, Beat Plastic Pollution campaigns, Puppet shows with Eco messages and many more. Director  Rupinder Singh said that it was a proud and memorable moment for the entire Josephian community and thanked Principal, Monica Chawla, staff and students for their wonderful cooperation and support, and for their marvelous teamwork which has made the school win this award.
