Haryana Chief Secretary directed the officers concerned that SOP regarding movement of people and possibility of congestion in shops should be issued at the earliest

In view of the upcoming festival season, Haryana Chief Secretary, Vijai Vardhan today directed the officers concerned that Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) regarding the movement of people and possibility of congestion in shops should be issued at the earliest. The Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police have also been directed to ensure strict compliance of the COVID-19 guidelines such as wearing of masks, maintaining social distancing and hand hygiene under the ‘COVID Appropriate Behaviour Campaign’.
The Chief Secretary gave these directions while presiding over the review meeting regarding strategy to be drafted for the containment of COVID-19 during the upcoming festival season with senior officers of various departments, Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police through Video Conferencing.
Mr. Vijai Vardhan directed the officers concerned, especially the Deputy Commissioners, Panchkula and Gurugram to issue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for upcoming Navratras celebrations to be held at Shri Mata Mansa Devi Temple and Shri Sheetla Mata Temple. He said that the SOPs related to Amavasya Mela to be held in Kurukshetra and Kapal Mochan Mela in Yamunanagar will also be issued soon.
Mr. Vijai Vardhan said that during Dussehra and Diwali, social distancing norms should be strictly followed at firecrackers, sweets shops. Besides this, the Information Education Communication (IEC) activities should also be increased so as to make the general public aware about the impact of COVID-19 directed the Chief Secretary. While directing the Superintendents of Police, he said that the drive for taking action against those not wearing masks at public places should be intensified.
Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Health and Family Welfare Department, Mr. Rajeev Arora, said that the ‘COVID Appropriate Behaviour Campaign’ aims to contain the spread of Coronavirus infection by wearing mask, maintaining social distancing and hand hygiene along with incorporating 15 other important safety points as an important part of everyone’s lifestyle. A comprehensive action plan has been prepared for this.
Director-General, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Mr. P. C. Meena said that awareness material regarding ‘COVID Appropriate Behaviour Campaign’ has been prepared. He informed that awareness would be spread to the masses through public transport, print media, electronic media, radio, mobile, SMS and public transport. Apart from this, the message of ‘COVID Appropriate Behaviour Campaign’ will be given to the general public through LED screens installed at the bus stand, hoardings, banners, posters displayed in public places and pamphlets.
It was informed in the meeting that Department of School Education, Department of Higher Education and Department of Technical Education is also preparing separate SOPs for opening educational institutions and these SOPs will soon be finalized.
Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Local Bodies Department, Mr. S.N. Roy, Principal Secretary, Development and Panchayat Department, Mr. Sudhir Rajpal, Chief Executive Officer of Ayushman Bharat Haryana Health Protection Authority, Mr. Ashok Meena and other senior officers were present.
Apart from this, Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Chief Secretary, School Education Department, Mr. Mahavir Singh, Principal Secretary, Higher Education Department, Mr. Ankur Gupta, Director General of Police, Mr. Manoj Yadava, and other senior officers attended the meeting through Video Conferencing.
