Inter-school declamation contest organised at Shemrock School, 26 schools of tricity participated in contest

Shemrock Senior Secondary School, sector 69 organised an inter-school declamation contest at its campus. As many as 26  schools of the tri-city participated in this contest. The two topics for the declamation were if you can’t change the world you can throw a stone to cast a ripple. And  if you keep your face to sunshine you can’t see the shadows .The students were encouraged to speak boldly and confidently. The winners were selected on the basis of style of language, Structure theme, Impact.

Naitik Goel Smart Wonder School bagged the first and Harshdeep Virdi from AKSIPS sector 65 & Advik Malhan of Gurukul world School bagged the second prize in the competition. Vivaan Gupta of Manav Mangal School   got third position. Consolation prizes were given to Ekam Sandhu ,of Bhavan Vidyalaya ,Aarush Singhal & Jai Shree  of Saupins School  & Mohika Tiwari of Sacred Heart School .

While Speaking at the moment Chairman J.S.Bajwa said that by participating in such declamation contests students learn the skills of combining eloquent language with equally eloquent delivery which is basic purpose of the education. According to him Educational goals of developing intelligence articulate character strengths, Creativity, ingenuity, optimism, industry, diligence, and perseverance which can be gained by participating in different competitions and declamation is a fantastic speaking event to improve public speaking prowess. It provides opportunity for budding youth to show their hidden talent.
