Markfed observes ‘DHIYAN DI LOHRI’

The Markfed staff educational and welfare society organized a one of its kind cultural programme titled ‘DHIYAN DI LOHRI’ at its premises in Sector-35. The programme was presided over by the Chairman of Markfed Amarjit Singh Samra.
Disclosing this, an official spokesman said that on the occasion those employees of Markfed were also honoured who had become proud fathers of daughters during the past 1 year.
The spokesman further said that during the course of the programme the Markfed employees performed Giddha and Bhangra on ‘Dhola’ which totally mesmerized the audience. Besides this, noted singer Bhupinder Babbal and Satti also held the audience spellbound with their soulful rendition of songs. The students of Guru Gobind Singh Girls College, Chandigarh enacted a play titled ‘Gulbano’ written by Veena Verma on the occasion. The play highlighted the plight of women in the society. It is also worth mentioning that the play has won Silver Medal in the Inter Zonal Youth Festival of Panjab University Chandigarh.
