National Lok Adalat organized in the District Court Sector 43 Chandigarh

Under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority, the State Legal Services Authority along with District Legal Services Authority, U.T., Chandigarh organized National Lok Adalat in the District Court, Sector 43, Chandigarh.
Eleven benches headed by the serving Judicial Officers were constituted in the District Courts, Sector-43, Chandigarh. Criminal Compoundable cases, cases under Section 138 of N.I.Act, Bank Recovery cases, MACT Cases, Matrimonial Disputes, Labour Disputes, Arbitration matters, other Civil Cases, Municipal Matters and Traffic Challans were taken up and disposed off with the consent of the parties. Paramjeet Singh, District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Chandigarh, Mahavir Singh, Member Secretary, State Legal Services Authority, Chandigarh and Ashok Kumar, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, U.T., Chandigarh visited the benches of District Courts Complex, Chandigarh and pursued the cases for an amicable settlement.
In National Lok Adalat total 1402 cases were disposed off by the benches of serving Judicial Officers constituted in New District Courts Complex, Sector 43, Chandigarh which include 29 Criminal Compoundable cases involving an amount of Rs.1,62,32,700/-, 686 cases under Section 138 of N.I. Act involving an amount of Rs.3,78,73,421/-, 14 Motor Accident Claim cases involving an amount of Rs.1,01,00,000/-, 11 Matrimonial/Family Disputes, 18 Civil Suits and Rent Cases involving an amount of Rs.2,78,29,300/-, 15 Executions involving an amount of Rs.10,34,000/-, 04 Criminal Revisions, 5 Criminal Misc., 8 Civil Misc. involving amount of Rs.2,00,000/-, 34 Arbitration cases, 20 Civil/Rent Appeals, 8 Criminal Appeals involving an amount of Rs.27,85,000/-, 8 cases of 125 Cr.P.C., 9cases of D.V. Act, 7 Untraced, 2 cases of Guardian & Succession Act Cases were disposed of, 9 cases relating to Registrar of Companies Act and Shop Act Cases with fine of Rs.33,000/-, 53 Municipal Matters were settled, 449 Traffic Challans were disposed of by imposing a fine of Rs.12,70,150/- and 13 cases involving an amount of Rs.7,66,787/- were disposed of by Permanent Lok Adalat (Public Utility Services). In addition to this 11 pre-litigative cases involving an amount of Rs.14,72,161/-, 28 Labour Dispute Cases involving an amount of Rs.17,22,161/- and 26 cases relating to Consumer Disputes were also settled.
