PM visits Haryana, unveils the statue of Sir Chhotu Ram, lays Foundation Stone of Rail Coach Refurbishing Karkhana

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi unveiled the 64-feet tall statue of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram, a messiah of farmers, in Sampla, Rohtak. Haryana Governor, Satyadeo Narain Arya, Chief Minister, Manohar Lal along with other leaders and dignitaries were also present on this important occasion.
This is the tallest statue in Haryana, which has been built by the recipient of Padma Bhushan, Ram Vanji Sutar, a sculptor. As many as 5,500 farmers of the state had donated from half kg to 2 kg iron metal for the construction of this statue. The unveiling of statue of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram is the honor of all the farmers of the country.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister also went around the museum based on the life of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram, where scenes depicting his life and items related to him have been displayed. Apart from this, he also laid the foundation stone of Rail Coach Refurbishing and Rehabilitation Factory in Barhi area of Sonepat district.
The factory would be built on 163 acres of land given by the State Government in Barhi, Sonepat. This would be the first excellent project of railway in the state. In this Rail Coach Factory, along with new coaches, beautification of old coaches would also be done. Later, the Prime Minister also addressed the largely attended Deenbandhu Smriti Rally in Rohtak.
Others present on the occasion included Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Acharya Devvrat, Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Satya Pal Malik, Union Minister of Steel, Ch. Birender Singh, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Krishan Pal Gurjar, Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, O.P. Dhankar, Education Minister, Ram Bilas Sharma, Minister of State for Cooperation, Manish Kumar Grover, MP, Rohtak, Deepender Hooda and BJP State President, Subhash Barala.
