Punjab & Haryana High Court Badminton Tournament
Vivek Pahwa and Vikas Kumar won silver in a close encounter

The employees of the Punjab and Haryana High court showed great enthusiasm to participate in a two days Badminton Tournament held at Sports Complex, Sector 7, Chandigarh when the mercury was at its highest level of the season.
While on the opening day, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ajay Kumar Mittal, Acting Chief Justice, Punjab and Haryana High Court set the tournament opened, it were Hon’ble Mr. Justice Hari Pal Verma and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Avneesh Jhingan, Judges of the Punjab and Haryana High court, who distributed the prizes to the winners and gave their blessings. Justice Jhingan even suggested that there should be more female participation and it should be made an annual event in order to motivate the employees towards better health and healthy living. Being inspired by the atmosphere at the badminton stadium, Justice Verma and Justice Jhingan also tried their hands at the Badminton Court, which was appreciated by one and all.
The limelight of the tournament was the two finals played at the end in front of Hon’ble Judges, wherein 35 to 45 category, pair of ‘Ashwani Kumar and Dinesh Kumar’ won Gold and pair of ‘Vivek Pahwa and Vikas Kumar’ won silver in a close encounter whereas in the under 35 categories, ‘Rahul Sharma and Parvinder Singh’ won Gold and pair of ‘Gurdeep Singh Rana and Suresh Kumar’ won silver.
