PUROHIT EXTENDS HIS GREETINGS ON THE FORMATION DAY OF CHANDIGARH

The Governor Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh, Banwarilal Purohit extended his warm greetings to the residents of Chandigarh on its formation day. Chandigarh was formed on November 1, 1966, and was given the status of Union Territory.

In his message, Governor Punjab cum Administrator UT Chandigarh, Purohit said that during these 55 years of its formation, Chandigarh has made unprecedented progress in diverse fields. Designed by the French Architect Le Corbusier’, Chandigarh continues to be a global model, known for its imaginative modern architecture, urban planning and landscaping, said Mr Purohit.

He further said it is one of the few master-planned cities in the world to have succeeded in terms of combining monumental architecture, cultural growth and modernization. As the seat of the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, it is the hub in North India for excellent education and health care. He hoped that Chandigarh will achieve new heights of progress in future.
