Raksha Bandhan celebrated with HIV/AIDS patients in PU – Satya Pal Jain was the Chief Guest

Centre for Social Work, National Service Scheme (NSS) and Girls Hostel no.8 of Panjab University, Chandigarh celebrated the festival of Rakhi with the People Living with HIV/AIDS at Girls hostel number – 8, Sector – 25, Chandigarh.

Satya Pal Jain, Additional Solicitor General of India and Former Member of Parliament was the Chief Guest. Davesh Moudgil, Former Mayor, Chandigarh and Dr Santosh Kumar, Department of Urology, PGIMER, Chandigarh were the Guest of Honour. All the women living with HIV/AIDS tied Rakhi to the dignitaries present over there. 

Mr. Jain appreciated the efforts made by Prof. Gaurav Gaur and his whole team in organizing this important event. He said that this type of event help in giving a message to the patients that they are not alone, but the whole society is with them. Dr Santosh also highlighted the importance of human relationships between different strata of people living in the society.

Gaurav Gaur, Chairperson of, Centre for Social Work shared the relevance of organizing such events. Ms Simran Kaur, Warden, Girls hostel no.8 thanked all the guests, wardens, Faculty, Research scholar and all residents of the hostel for organizing this event.

 Among others Prof Meena Sharma, Prof Ashok Kumar and Prof Ashwani Koul were also present on this occasion.
