Team of crime Branch got major success in apprehending one person involved in drug trafficking in Tricity

Cracking the whip on the drug paddlers, the team of crime Branch under the supervision of Inspector/Incharge Harinder Singh Sekhon, Inspector Ashok Kumar with the close guidance of Udaypal Singh, DSP Cime got major success in apprehending one person namely Akshay Rajesh S/o Rajesh Kumar R/o Plot No. 115C, Kh.No.18/20, Chander Vihar Nilothi West Delhi, Aged 28 years involved in drug trafficking in Tricity.

          On 18.7.2021, at about 12.30 am a team of Crime Branch headed by SI Sumer Singh was on patrolling in the area of Police Station 36, Chandigarh with regard to prevention and control of crime. While they were near street light Pole No.1, Dividing Road, Sec.52/53, Chandigarh, one Hindu person holding the bag in his right hand came from Village Kajheri side and turned toward Sec.52, Chandigarh, on seeing police party returned and walked rapidly. On the basis of suspicion, he was stopped. On asking he disclosed his name as Akshay Rajesh S/o Sh. Rajesh Kumar R/o Plot No. 115C, Kh.No.18/20, Chander Vihar Nilothi West Delhi, Aged 28 years and informed that he has come from Delhi. Further on the search of the bag, heroin was found wrapped in white polythene, weighed 110 grams. He could not give any satisfactory reply for keeping the same in his possession. Consequently, case FIR No. 149 Dated 18.8.2019 U/S 21 NDPS Act, PS-36, Chandigarh was registered against drug peddler Akshay Rajesh. From the preliminary interrogation, it has revealed that he was supplying the haul of the drug for the last 1 ½ months in the area of Sector-52, Chandigarh for the further to dispose off.
