The Punjab Government under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh has always taken the initiative on priority to provide support to the families of the martyrs who sacrificed their life for the country. Special efforts have been made to provide assistance and government jobs to the dependent of such martyrs on priority basis. On the same lines, the Technical Education Department has provided government job to Mrs. Ranjit Kaur, the widow of the soldier Manpreet Singh who died in a militant attack at Jammu.
Technical Education & Industrial Training and Employment Generation & Training Minister Charanjit Singh Channi handed over appointment letter to Mrs. Ranjit Kaur for the post of Sewing / Embroidery Instructor in Technical Education department at his office at Punjab Civil Secretariat.
It is worth mentioning here that Shaheed Manpreet Singh, a resident of village Awan of Gurdaspur district, died during the millitant attack by terrorists in the Morganan area of Uri sector of Jammu on December 5, 2014. Punjab Government has offered this job to Mrs. Ranjit Kaur as an honour and thanks giving gesture.
