“World Turtle Day” is celebrated around the globe in various ways to bring attention to and increase knowledge of and respect for turtles and tortoises and encourage human action to help them survive and thrive.  Keeping this in view the Kindergarten block of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44 D, Chandigarh celebrated “World Turtle Day” with young Josephians. As sensitized at this tender age, tiny tots would become the future saviors of these hard-shelled friends who are almost on the edge of extinction due to environmental hazards and issues with hunting and harvesting of their eggs.  Little ones were informed about the difference between a turtle and a tortoise.  They were amazed to watch the video clip containing the life cycle of a turtle.  The children were encouraged to save environment and help protect these ever endangered sea turtles.
